Dive Gear
One of the most important pieces of dive gear a person
can own is a wetsuit. This is especially true if the diver plans to
do any deep-sea diving or diving in cold waters.
Of course in order for this piece of dive gear to work effectively
for a diver, it must fit in the right way. If you are unsure abut what
size of wetsuit you should purchase or wear, here is a sizing guide:
• Men – The range of sizes of wetsuits for men can range
anywhere from extra small all the way to 3XL. An extra small wetsuit
would fit a man who is about 125-135 pounds and about 5’5”.
On the other hand, this piece of dive gear is made for people much larger.
The 3XL wetsuits are built for men who are 230-250 pounds and between
6’1” and 6’3”. Larger wetsuits can be found,
but they often need to be custom made. The average man would wear a
wetsuit that is size LG. These are made for men who are 170-190 pounds
and between 5’10” and 6 feet tall.
• Women – The sizes for women’s wet suits range anywhere
form size 4 to size 14. This dive gear that is size 4 is made for women
who are 110 pounds and between 5’4” and 5’6”
The size 4 is made for women who are between 5’9” and 5’11”
tall and around 150 pounds. Once again, there are larger sizes but they
sometimes need to be custom made. If a woman needs smaller than a size
4, she may want to look at girls’ wetsuits.
By making sure that this dive gear fits well, the diver can be more
comfortable and stay warmer when in the water.
