Diving equipment
After you purchase diving equipment, it will be important
to keep tabs on it. Because this equipment can be expensive and because
some pieces of equipment can be easily lost, it is vital that the owner
of the equipment does everything he needs to do to keep his eye on it.
Some of the things he can do include:
• Write down serial numbers – If you go on a diving expedition
with a large group of people, there is a good chance that your diving
equipment could be mixed up with somebody else’s equipment. By
writing down the serial numbers on your equipment you can eliminate
any confusion that might arise when two or more pieces of equipment
look alike.
• Mark your diving equipment – Using a label maker or a
permanent marker to label your equipment might be easier than writing
down the serial numbers. This is just another way to avoid confusion
when many people have pieces of equipment lying out.
• Keep the equipment together – A dive bag is a great place
to put your diving equipment. By utilizing this bag, there is much less
of a likelihood that you and another person will question whose equipment
belongs to whom. By keeping the dive bag organized in the same way each
time you pack and unpack diving equipment you will also be able to understand
if you have all of your equipment.
